A VISIT TO BOLZANO, MERANO & ROVERETO WITH GIANPIETRO CARLESSO

 Acqua di Bolzano - refreshing!

Bolzano with a population of just over 100,000
We drove up into the mountain the next morning
Looks more like autumn than late winter
We found a local guesthouse that serves brunch
Gianpietro Carlesso and Carlo
the lovely chef made me two special veggie balls and
we love the local cabbage salad!

What a view!
That afternoon we paid a visit to Museion of Modern and
Contemporary Art and met up with Letizia the museum director
Top floor of the museum, with a view!
Allora & Calzadilla's Sediments Sentiments (Figures of Speech), 2007
Elmgreen & Dragset's A change of Mind, 2007

enjoying the winter sun at the cafe outside the museum
Carlesso also showed us his work commissioned by Bolzano
City Council - what an accolade for an artist who comes from this town!
We then drove north through the valley to Merano...
20 mins later, here we are in Merano -
best known for its spa resorts!
No time to visit the spa, we headed straight to
Kunst Meran (Merano Museum)
The museum is closed but Herta, the museum director gave us a
private tour around the maze-like building.
The next day we stopped at the cultural city of Rovereto
We checked out the site at the museum entrance where
Carlesso is commissioned to have his work on permanent display here - watch this space!

We say good bye to Rovereto and head back to London
